Dione Protocol

A Layer-1 that pays the planet back.

An EVM-compatible, proof-of-stake Layer-1 blockchain built for the energy sector. Validators secure the network on renewable power, a peer-to-peer marketplace lets producers and consumers trade energy directly, and the DIONE token ties governance, fees and green rewards together — so ordinary people can own a stake in clean energy, not just buy it.

The brief

A blockchain that answers to the grid

Most chains burn energy; this one is built to save it. Dione Protocol is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 aimed squarely at the energy sector — cutting its carbon footprint while turning retail consumers into stakeholders who can run their own clean-energy businesses. Validators stake DIONE to secure the network and earn rewards, the Nebra marketplace settles producer-to-consumer trades on-chain, and the Orion validator runs on solar power and satellite internet. The result: renewable energy with a ledger behind it, open to anyone rather than the few.

What it does

The pieces that make it work

A proof-of-stake chain, a validator that runs on sunlight, and a marketplace where clean energy actually changes hands.

Proof-of-stake security

Stake DIONE directly or delegate it to a validator to help secure the network and earn rewards — consensus that keeps the chain honest without the energy bill of proof-of-work.

Orion validator

A remote validator powered by solar panels and Starlink satellite internet — billed as the first truly climate net-positive blockchain node, able to run where the grid can't reach.

Nebra marketplace

A peer-to-peer energy marketplace where producers and consumers trade directly — every transaction and financial settlement recorded and cleared on-chain.

Smart-grid integration

Built to plug into real-world energy infrastructure, so the chain reflects what's actually flowing through the grid rather than sitting apart from it.

Green incentives

A rewards system that pays users for contributing clean-energy data, turning good behaviour into on-chain value and pulling more renewable supply into the network.

DIONE token & cross-chain

DIONE is the native utility and governance token — it pays fees, carries governance votes and fuels green incentives, and moves across multiple blockchains thanks to cross-chain support.

The ecosystem

Three products, one clean-energy network

Orion, Dione Protocol's solar- and Starlink-powered remote validator
Orion

A validator that runs on sunlight

Orion pairs solar panels with Starlink satellite internet to run a validator off-grid — a node designed to be climate net-positive, generating more clean energy than it consumes.

Nebra, Dione Protocol's peer-to-peer energy marketplace
Nebra

Energy, traded person to person

Nebra connects producers and consumers directly, cutting out the middle layer. Trades and their financial settlement clear on-chain, so a household with spare solar can sell straight to a neighbour.

Odyssey, Dione Protocol's in-development renewable-powered Layer-1
Odyssey

A Layer-1 powered entirely by renewables

Odyssey is the next step, in development now: a Layer-1 run wholly on renewable energy, extending the protocol's climate goals from a single validator to the whole chain.

How it works

Five steps into the network

  1. 01

    Hold DIONE

Acquire the native token that powers fees, governance and rewards across the chain.

  2. 02

    Stake or delegate

Lock DIONE to run a validator, or delegate it to one, and start earning.

  3. 03

    Secure the chain

Validators — Orion among them — confirm transactions on proof-of-stake consensus.

  4. 04

    Trade on Nebra

Buy and sell renewable energy peer-to-peer, settled directly on-chain.

  5. 05

    Earn & govern

Collect staking and green-data rewards, then vote on where the protocol goes next.

Under the hood

How it's put together

At the core sits an EVM-compatible Layer-1 secured by proof-of-stake. Solidity smart contracts run staking, the Nebra marketplace and green incentives; the Orion validator brings solar and satellite hardware into the picture; and cross-chain support lets DIONE move between networks rather than staying boxed in.

The Layer-1 is the heart of it — proof-of-stake keeps energy use low by design, and EVM compatibility means existing Solidity tooling and contracts port straight across, so the effort goes into the energy layer rather than reinventing the chain.
